The Bulletin Board: Economy and Effectiveness in Organizational Communication

Awareness of the importance of effective communication in organizations has led many businesses to invest heavily in sophisticated communication media. One simple medium which is often ignored or underused is the bulletin board. This article suggests conditions under which a bulletin board would be an effective message transmission device. A case is made for the value of a bulletin board system as an efficient medium which pro motes communicative openness within organizations.
