The Status of Postsecondary Business Communication Instruction—1986 vs. 1982

Scot Ober

Central Michigan University

To determine the present status of business communication instruction in postsecondary institutions in the United States and to note changes in instruction within the past four years, a 1982 survey was replicated; data were collected from 356 institutions and analyzed within the categories of institutional information, information about the basic business communication course, and information about other business communication courses . Major differences in instruction were found between 1982 and today and between two- and four-year institutions.
