Communication Across the CampusExpanding Our Mission to Practice What We ProfessNorth Georgia College & State University Many of us who are members of the Association for Business Communication work on campuses where communications and communication environments do not always reflect the best practices we know and teach. Therefore, we have a host of promising opportunities close to home for advancing our work and our discipline. Contributing to informal communication-across-the-campus efforts can include modeling best practices when we create teaching materials, compose e-mail, and respond to student work. We can also make valuable contributions by presenting campus workshops, writing guidelines for effective communication, and collaborating with colleagues who prepare campus communications. By increasing our visibility and value in some or all of these ways, we are likely to enjoy even greater satisfaction and success during the next 70 years of ABC's history.
