The Doldrums of the Advanced Writing Course

Mr. Douglas discusses the often heard complaint that advanced writing courses tend to reach an early point of diminishing returns, after which student interest begins to wane. After identifying a number of the traditional ways of preventing this from happening, he offers a few suggestions of his own for overcoming the doldrums.
